The Workshop in Geneva turned my world around. It opened up a world of opportunities. I set goals for myself and began ideating better. I have the confidence to break away from my family run business and start my own venture.
About

A commerce graduate from St Xaviers College, Kolkata, I have lived a secure life in the comfort of my family run business, Dey's Medical, an institution in Kolkata. However the desire to make it into an multinational brand when I joined the business, four years ago, remained an idea only and never saw the light of day. Since attending the Empretec workshop I have had the confidence to become an entrepreneur and head a start up that will export high end ayurvedic cosmetics to the European and the American market .

What can I give to the community

I agree with Empretec's ideology that entrepreneurship is the way out of poverty for developing nations. I understand charity and social work. However I believe that in the long run I could make a bigger contribution to society if I can create jobs and encourage other entrepreneurs to do the Empretec workshop. This would help them to become successful in their fields and thus create more job opportunities.

What I wish to get from the community

The Empretec community is growing every day, creating new opportunities for interaction that contribute to business growth. My interaction with a gentleman from Kerala at the workshop has led to the possibility of sourcing products from the state. The workshop has participants from diverse disciplines and provides a space for creation of new opportunities.
